Our Incredible Team of Conservators

Picture
Presenting our team of 4 talented conservators! Most often we work on different days which has resulted in this rather clumsily edited photo that brings us all together.
With Ann-Marie, there is  Camilla, Chloe and Keara. All professionally qualified conservators who bring their skills and expertise to the workshop. Camilla, trained at Northumbria University, is a specialist in Works of Art on Paper and Archival conservation, who also runs her own conservation business. Chloe and Keara both trained at West Dean in conservation - although some years apart - and are specialist in Book and Archive conservation. We are pretty indomitable team and are all very passionate about our work.

Ann-Marie Miller ACR, MA, has been a practicing book and and archives conservator for over 25 years.  She first studied the History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, followed by post-graduate studies in Conservation at Camberwell College of Arts and 3 years of bookbinding courses at the London College of Printing. After graduating, she worked as a freelance conservator and part-time bookbinder. Ann-Marie worked as a book conservator at the British Library from 2004 until 2011, working on one of the richest and most diverse collections in the world.  She conserved items from across the collections including treasures such as the first illuminated Zoroastrian Manuscript and the Mercator Atlas. She achieved ICON accredited status as a book and archives conservator in 2007 and is a mentor and assessor  for the Professional Accreditation Scheme. Ann-Marie is a passionate conservation advocate and loves letting others know how great it is. She provides training for collections managers and volunteers, lectures about conservation practice and teaches practical conservation techniques.

In 2020, alongside Ruth Stevens and Ian Watson, she set up Impact Heritage CIC, a not for profit supporting community archives to care for their collections, achieve funding and create paid internships for conservation graduates.www.impactheritage.uk/
